Private William (or Matthew) Woods

 

 

William (or Matthew) Woods of the North Irish Horse (right), with his pals Frederick Hamilton (19655) of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and his brother James Hamilton, photographed in Dublin in 1916. Frederick, who went to France on 20 December 1915, wears a wound stripe; he died of wounds at the No.32 Casualty Clearing Station, Belgium, on 6 August 1917.
